2021

  • my work in kunstletters #014-2021: Zomer in beeld

@kunstletters selected my work "The Lone Kayaker" from the online gallery on www.beeld.be to feature in their art magazine.

  • Yay!!! I've graduated in Graphic Arts from the Stedelijke Academie voor Schone Kunsten in Lier. The jury's assessment gives me the confidence to continue creating my art!

    The jury report:

    "Wow! We feel truly inspired.
We saw an incredibly personal visual language within a graphic studio—that is no small feat. The path you have taken shows remarkable growth.

You bring a contemporary language, a fresh and current perspective, to a traditional black-and-white medium. Your work can stand in expressive power alongside Masereel (the master of relief printmaking).

We recommend creating a portfolio of your work, to submit for work periods, competitions, exhibitions, or to illustrate columns… In short, we see numerous opportunities.

The lino itself is also a gem, which opens up even more possibilities."

2020

  • "Humpy Bumpy" was selected for the second time from the Kunstwerkt online gallery – November 2020.

"The figure is powerfully positioned on the page. It does not float, but stands. Painted spontaneously and fluidly using a single medium: ink. A very strong piece."

    — Chantal Steenhaut

  • My work was selected from the @kunstwerkt web gallery – June 2020.

"During my first internship last year at Kunstwerkt, I mainly assisted with the preparations for the graphic arts festival Drukdrukdruk. Thanks to that project, I discovered my new love for graphic arts, with linocut standing out in particular. It was therefore inevitable that a linocut piece would sneak into my selection.

When I came across this cloud chaser, I was immediately captivated. The delicate lines create movement within the image, making it seem as if it could ride right off the page at any moment."

    — Staff pick door Priscilla Devries

  • My work selected from the @kunstwerkt web gallery – May 2020:  And it goes on and on and on …

Annelies Moons (presenter at Radio 1, one of her programs is Culture Club) selected this work from the web gallery at www.beeld.be / www.kunstwerkt.be

A piece that didn't let go of me; I carried it with me for a few days. As a viewer, I feel so helpless. It probably resonates even more with me due to the current Covid-19 situation.

2019

  • Art competition "Small Sculpture" CC Zwaneberg 2019: this little sculpture made it into the exhibition.

— Jill and Ellen Keppens
  • My work featured in Kunstletters #006 – 2019: Jill and Ellen Keppens selected the piece "Humpy Bumpy" from the web gallery on www.beeld.be / www.kunstwerkt.be

"This work by Fabienne immediately caught our attention. The figure is painted with great fluidity and precision. This watercolor has punch, and there is also a touch of humor hidden within it."
— Jill and Ellen Keppens

2017

  • Art competition printmaking CC Zwaneberg 2017: an honorable mention for these two lithographs and a nice spot in the exhibition.
