 the common thread throughout my work

I work with printmaking (mainly linocut) and graphite watercolor—two techniques that I apply both on their own and within my mixed media pieces. At first glance, they may seem very different, but for me they share the same immediacy. Once something is cut or painted, there's little room for correction. There is no turning back. As a draftsman, I use my cutting tools and brushes as if they were pencils. In my mixed media works, I even draw with thread, and I am increasingly exploring the possibilities of textile as a medium. My images emerge intuitively and associatively, starting from what I see or feel, often gaining a playful, humorous touch.
